The Black Business Council leadership comprises of a President, two Vice- Presidents (Professionals and Organised Business), Secretary General, Treasurer General and a Head of Policy. This is a team of competent and experienced business people and professionals that have expertise in different sectors of the economy.
Judi Nwokedi is the chief operating officer and executive director of Tourvest Holdings. Prior to that she was a senior vice president of Areva, the global nuclear and renewable energies company, and she remains the president of the South African Nuclear New Build Plant Company (SANNPC).
Judi was also managing director of Motorola South Africa and prior to that the managing director of the SABC’s public broadcasting. In addition, Judi was responsible for conceptualising and raising funds for loveLife, aimed at HIV/Aids prevention and consultation for South Africa’s youth. Judi also worked for the Australian government as a development strategist for the New South Wales Department of Sports, psychological advisor for the Australian Correctional Services and national HIV/AIDS project manager for the Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Cape Town and has been certified in a number of courses from the University of Sydney, Harvard University and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. She sits on the boards of Consolidates Infrastructure Group (CIG), CONLOG, South Africa Tourism, the Black Business Council and the Aids Consortium. Prior directorships include those with the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, the Southern African International Film and Television Market (Sithengi) and the Art Bank Johannesburg.
