The Black Business Council (BBC) is the over-arching confederation that represents black professional, business associations and chambers. The primary purpose of the BBC is to lobby government on policy related matters and to play an advocacy role where policies are in place in order to accelerate the participation of black business in the mainstream economy.More about Black Business Council
The Black Business Council leadership comprises of a President, two Vice- Presidents (Professionals and Organised Business), Secretary General, Treasurer General and a Head of Policy. The mandate of the BBC is driven by Ten (10) Portfolio Committees which all have a key responsibility to drive policy related matters through advocating government legislations, policy stakeholder engagements and programs. The BBC is governed by the following Portfolio Committees which enable the organisation to lobby government on policy legislations, to investigate and facilitate the access to opportunities for black business in the mainstream economy. Portfolio Committees also serve the purpose of submitting commentary inputs on government bill and legislations.
