The Black Business Council (BBC) is extremely proud of the pledge and commitment made by the Motsepe Foundation to support efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The BBC applauds the patriotism demonstrated by Dr Precious and Patrice Motsepe.
“The Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) and the self-employed are the hardest hit amongst the affected groups. The BBC is therefore pleading that the significant share of the resources pledged should be directed and earmarked for providing relief to the SMMEs - in particular, the black-owned SMMEs in the informal sector” said Sandile Zungu, the BBC President.
We commend the Motsepes and their allied companies for showing leadership in a time of crises.
“Should our plea be accepted, the BBC will avail itself to play a role in working out the distribution mechanism to enable the SMMEs to access the funds.” concluded Zungu
The Black Business Council (BBC) is the over-arching confederation that represents black professional, business associations and chambers. The primary purpose of the BBC is to lobby government on policy related matters and to play an advocacy role where policies are in place in order to accelerate the participation of black business in the mainstream economy.
